Yesterday, Sean Hannity had a mutual wank-off with two Republican members of Congress, who are "sure" they can take back the House of Representatives in November, and while talking about the health care screaming match Sean Hannity said (fast forward to 7:40 to hear it),
I think we won the debate. When you think of the vast majorities that they have in Congress, and they had the bribes, the back-room deals, the corruption... that's all because the tea-party movement, the people, all of these Tim McVeigh wannabes here, you know?
Sean Hannity favorably compared his audience, which he gestured to while he spoke, and which cheered wildly at his remarks, to Timothy McVeigh, a psychopathic terrorist who murdered women and children.

Sounds to me like he was being sarcastic, trying to downplay the recent right-wing violence with a little playful hyperbole. That line didn't bug me as much as, well, pretty much everything else that comes out of his mouth.

But... but... terrorism isn't something red-blooded Ah-murrrrricans do! It's only terrorism if it's done by dark-skinned men with funny names.

Or, y'know, by liberals.

And this is the sort of thing that nobody in the loons-with-megaphones camp ever get called on. I mean, the folks on the opposite side of the aisle hear it and facepalm to it, because we pay attention to them; but you won't hear this quote on any sort of mainstream channel, and you won't get politicians distancing themselves from it, or excoriating it, or really anyone in media coming out and saying that at the very least, it was a bone-headed thing to say, and he should apologize to the widows, widowers, and orphans of the OK City bombing.

i am glad, really glad, that our media is free from most government influence. But, dammit... things like this, and you start to see how Sith happens.

You Have It Wrong

No Elf, you have taken it out of context. He was quoting what the Liberals/Progressives Leaders in Congress have been saying about Tea Party folks being Timothy McVeigh wannabes and being domestic terrorist because they dare to voice their discontent. Funny, old Nancy P was crowing about those same events by the left while Bush was in office, now they are domestic terrorist and racists. So much for "Hope and Change" in Washington, those in power just get meaner with near absolute power.

Let me guess, you haven't talk to Walt in a long long time. :) Hugs to Omaha. Mark and his wife still in Seattle area?
