Last night the family was sitting around playing Apples to Apples, and for some reason the conversation rolled around to cute guys. Yamaraashi-chan opined, "Edward Cullen."

Lisakit said, "Vin Diesel."

I said, "Willford Brimley."

"What!?" Omaha said. "Willford Brimley!?" Whereupon the entire (adult) section of the table exploded in giggles so uncontrollable that I couldn't breathe for several minutes afterward.

You forgot my other response.

"I'm going to throw up now."

Was that in response to Cullen, Diesel, or Brimley.

You know, I don't know who any of those guys are. I've heard Vin Diesel's name in the context of cinema -- he's an actor, right? -- but the others? Huh.

Edward Cullen is the vampire from 'Twilight'...you know: the glittery one.

Wilford Brimley used to be an actor but is best known recently for selling oatmeal and diabetes supplies (not together). He's old, rotund and sporting an impressive mustache. I'm not entirely sure of his cultural penetration in the UK, but the US he's one of those character actors where you'd recognize his face (or mustache), even if you didn't know him.

More importantly, Cullen is the character. He's played by Robert Pattinson in the movies, who's much better looking without all the vampire makeup.

Cullen is this punk-looking ... punk. (get off my lawn! :)

Wilford Brimley is a shaggy-mustached grandpa-looking sort. (hey, if he floats Elf's boat...)

Vin Diesel is half-Italian, half-black, all muscle, and, yeah, if I swung that way? Tapped. (Assuming my usual caveat: "Yeah, but does s/he *think*?")

Vin Diesel apparently plays D&D.

Sold.

I hear that Vin Diesel and Stephen Colbert used to play a campaign together.

Apocryphal? Maybe, but who cares? It has the ring of truthiness.

Cullen looks like he's about to die from starvation, and that I could probably touch him and he'd fall over.

Vin Diesel is hot, muscley, and unfortunately plays way too many roles in which I'd flip him off if he said a single word to me.

Wilford Brimley sells oatmeal.

That about sums up my thoughts there.

*first good belly laugh of the day*

So who do *you* think is hot and wouldn't piss you off just by opening his mouth? :)

Wilford Brimley was Dr Blair in John Carpenter's remake of The Thing.

Personally I think that pudgy middle aged guys with facial hair are cute. At least that's what my honey tells me whenever she looks at me.

Honey, you are *not* Wilfred Brimley. When I think of you, I do *not* think of oatmeal!

;)

BTW, I should also note that Elf has been on this oatmeal kick recently, so knowing that and his comment last night, I now wonder *what* he does in the shower stall during those long showers.

And I have a hand-cream that promises "Extreme Oatmeal Relief." Make of that what you will.

I'm not sure I can eat oatmeal again for a while.
