I don't think they hate America. I think they hate the rest of the world and simply want to control America. Completely.

I'm ambivalent about whether or not Chicago should get the Olympics. Having a gazillion foreigners come to America and leave their money behind would be a great thing, but cities rarely break even on the endeavor and South America has never hosted an Olympic event, so I can understand the IOC's vote.

What disgusts me is the "Ha, ha, the president has failed! He suxxxors!" attitude that comes through loud and clear from supposedly mature adults.

I gave up on that whole supposition of maturity in the right wing along about mid-2008.

Chicago was a longshot in the first place.

I don't care about the Olympics at all, except that even as a break-even event, money churns and that's part of the description of a healthy economy. You may not be able to get ahead that way, but stagnation is death.

I agree; they disgust me too. Most of "that side" does right now. Can't we get SOMEONE that doesn't suck on the Republican side?

Well, there's also the factor that anyone sane has left the party. I know quite a few former Republicans who aren't now because they can't find anything left of their own party.

In the political arena, it would appear a number of these previously moderate R's are now self-branded as "Blue dog Dems". Which explains why abstinence made it out of finance while neither public health plan did -- in a supposed supermajority.
