Well, I finished the fence. That's about all I did Sunday, was finish that goddamned fence. Ripping a board lengthwise with a circular saw was no fun. Oh, and dishes. An eternity of dishes.

I wish I felt better about myself and what I'm doing, but right now I'm just sorta floating. I'm head deep into a serious and strange project, one that might turn out to be a huge waste of time and money, or might be a great leap forward in both experience and profitability, but I'm at the stage of the project where I have both high hopes and high anxiety.

Future tip on ripping long boards with a circular saw, or making any other long cuts when you don't have a table saw. Clamp another piece of wood to the first such that when the edge of the blade guard touches it, the cut is where you need it to be. Then you just slide the saw along that guide. Much easier than trying to manually follow a chalk line, etc.
