Oh, mighty LJ brain:

I once had a magazine with Ogre/GEV rules for ice and snow. It included things like rolling each round for ice breakthrough, and how Ogres handled it.

I believe it was the same issue that covered satellite mapping, and the reliablility (or lack thereof) of tactical battlefield information. Does anyone remember if it was Dragon, Space Gamer, or White Dwarf, and if so, what issue?

Doubt it was Space Gamer, or it would have been in the revised edition of The Ogre Book (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG30-3202). I'm not sure if Dragon ever published anything about Ogre, even when they had the Ares supplement in the back.

My guess would be Pyramid, that's where the "Godzilla for Ogre" article was from.

Hmmm...looking at the Ogre bibliography, could this be it?:
Ice Ogre, by Timothy C. and Lynn Wiedel. Space Gamer 23, 1979.
Ogres adapted for Metagaming's Ice War.
