${ETHICS_VIOLATION} and I agreed that I would not be a good candidate for their team going forward. It was easier than I expected to tell them so.

Elf, it was good for you in the long view, to make that correct choice now. Your good name is easy to lose and hard to regain.

Been there, dodged that trap.

Don't regret it. You just saved yourself guaranteed stress and career-damage.

Take it from someone who's been there, and made the other choice: walking away is the best thing for your mental and professional well-being.

True, you're probably more employable in the long term with your good name. Also in case, hopefully not but you never know, you need to job hunt ever again.

Lack of ethics in type of operation makes you also wonder whether they lack ethicsc in terms of employment, so that might be more likely than we might think.
