Well, it's that time of year again. Time to ignore the Intarweb, to duck and cover, and to wait until April 2nd, at which point I nuke my RSS reader with a 'Mark All As Read' and go on as if nothing happened. Thanks to the World Wide Web, people on the other side of the International Date Line are already posting their silliness.

Oh, stop being so grumpy. I love this time period. It's great seeing all of the fun posts and trying to figure out which ones are real and which ones aren't. You're just pissed because you got scammed last year by NPR. ;)

I enjoy silliness, when it's easy to figure out that it's silliness. Like you, I don't like pranks that play on people's gullibility.

It's labelled Humour and Fiction, it's got all kinds of trigger words, the author's name spells April Fool. I mean I could have just written a piece that said what I was trying to do.

On the other paw, how strongly should I write that It's Not About You? I'm generally a curmudgeon about April 1st because so much of it is about playing on people's gullibility. I tend to read important things twice, once with all the filters off, and another with them on. I enjoyed your piece about lateral genetic transfer and knew it was a joke from the beginning. I just don't care for April 1st in general.
