I have no idea how practical or tasty this is, but it's beer! Fresh! From the tap!

The other day, I thought of several friends of mine when I saw The Nanobrewmaster, a mash-to-tap beer brewing device that fits under your kitchen counter, automatically making any flavor of beer your care for.

I can imagine a couple of people who'd like such a thing. For my taste, though, I'd rather have one that made wine & mead.

All I ever needed was a glass gallon jug and an appropriate airlock. Try the recipe for Cariadoc's Small Mead (Honey Drink) on http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/cariadoc/drinks.html, just cut the recipe in half or less. Or get a second jug.

Ah, Duke (squared) Cariadoc... haven't seen him in years. He does make a very good mead.

The hardest part is racking, and even that wasn't too bad the one and only time I helped make some. Well, if I remember right, it was a melomel, but the method is the same.

The beast and I do small-scale home craft cider and mead making (and perry and metheglin etc). If you would care to try some sometime, that could easily be arranged.
