Snoozy
They say that when kids are going through their tweens their bodies and brains go through all sorts of moody, bizarre changes so rapidly it becomes a chore for parents just to keep up. Yesterday, on a long drive homeward, after telling me that she didn't think it was fair that I made her and her sister, who's only nine, go to bed at the same time because "My Mom lets me stay up late and I still get up on time and make it to school and I don't need nine hours of sleep, Dad!" Yamaraashi-chan promptly fell asleep in the back of the car.

She insisted when we got home that she wasn't tired. No sir, not at all.

Of course she wasn't tired, she just had a nap. ;-).

I'm writing a post about this - my response ended up way too long for a comment.

The short version: getting good sleep isn't important just for her, it's important for the whole family. Yay you for insisting!

Any time you win an argument logically with a teen or tween, immediately apologize. It'll save time in the long run.
