And, Thank You, All

I don't handle death well. I know why, and I had a gazillion thoughts on why, and maybe someday I'll write them all down. But I just wanted to say thanks to all the people who wrote, here or in email, telling us how sorry they were for our loss. It meant a lot to me, and I appreciate you all for it.
Thank you.
Thank you.
We do what we can do.
Date: 2009-01-11 08:33 am (UTC)Funny how we try to say the right thing and do the right thing but sometimes we just fail miserably? I am bad at death as well. I run. Badly.
I lost my kitty years ago and I have never been bale to have a cat since. For me it is to hard. I have dogs since my wife is the dog person and I get attached, but she is the one who brings a new pet home after we have lost one. I run.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think of it as a fear of death. I have gone in after and done the ritual, and placed coin, and sang the laments, but to be there when it happens destroys me.
So I run.
I am sorry for your loss and I am sorry that she will never wake up and I feel that you are the sort of person who will do everything you can, to the best of your ability. If you think you handle death poorly I think you probably did just fine.
The condolences of my house and family go out to you at your loss.
