Every day I wake up with a song stuck in my head. Usually, I'm left scratching my head trying to figure out what, if anything, it's trying to tell me.

Today's song is particularly perplexing. It's Those Were The Days, the theme song of All In The Family.

Those Were the Days looks back on a time that has passed. The singers believed that those days were better. Has something passed by? The girls growing up? The American changing society?

Brains are very complex and humerous sometimes in the way they try to talk to us.

His brain is obviously thinking of the lyric "Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again."

Nostalgia for the Great Depression? Or nostalgia for a time when political disagreements were bitter and loud?

Actually, I suspect a nostalgia for days when guys like me, the geeks, ran the world. Sadly, that day has passed. I can't help but think that the current econopocalypse is vengeance for our attempt to wrest control from the moneyed elite.
