I do not appreciate having to drag my butt into the office at 6:30 in the morning, but it has its compensations. Number one: the view outside my window. Andrew Sullivan posts one or two pictures from his readers every day for a feature called "The View Outside Your Window."

Here's mine for Nov 24, 2008 at 7:25AM:

MT Rainier.

Wow, what a nice, clear shot of Rainier.

That's breathtakingly lovely, perhaps because of those prehistoric-looking cranes under the timeless (until it blows, I guess) mountain.

Thanks for sharing it.

So you're NNW of Rainier?
(I can see Liberty Peak (I think that's the name))

Lovely shot - in the {limited) time I've had to spend in Seatac, I've only actually SEEN it with my own eyes once (full-moon in June '94, I believe - and an excellent steak dinner @ Paradise, too)

Well worth the drive from Atlanta...

There is no view from my window(s) because I have the walls draped with sound-absorbing cloth batts: this is supposed to be a recording studio (among other things). Even without the covering, the view is something short of inspiring - just a spot of trees, and suburban houses beyond, a glimpse of road. Not even any sun, today.

That would be where Seattle is, yeah. :-)

Well, like I said the only time I actually got to see it was from Paradise Inn - not from Seattle!

(and honestly, I don't think I saw much more of Seattle than Pike's Place Mkt)

...and there's the Edgewater, and I think I've walked down that street and turned near there. *squee*

I haven't been to Seattle since 2006, I think, and I miss it. *sniffle*

:drools:

I am soooo jealous! I miss having mountains ever-present in one direction. (I went to grad-school in Boulder, CO.)
