When you think of controversial comic strips, 9 Chickweed Lane does not immediately come to mind. And yet, for the past couple of weeks the strip has been, um, adults only. If not in art, at the very least in content. For one thing, Edda and Amos have suddenly discovered they can't keep their hands off each other, and then artist Brooke McEldowney used an entire day to draw a two-panel sex scene between Francis and Diane Edda and Amos that appeared in newspapers all across the country:

Yes, please. More of that. No, really, I'm not being sarcastic.
[I seem to have misread the previous day's panel.]

I really like this strip.
ETA: I don't always write like a first-grader. :)

It's a beautiful strip

Date: 2008-11-12 07:21 pm (UTC)A succubus, a fairy escaping her given role in life (the title character), an oversized house fly, a musician/theologian (I think that's what Geoff is) and at the moment, a young computer geek and his sister, who had been caught in a computer simulation with all of the above. He does things with Dru, the succubus, he couldn't do with 9 Chickweed Lane. (http://www.gocomics.com/pibgorn/2008/10/28/)

It's been one of my all time favourites for some time.
