- In trying to keep up with a post-election promise to not spend too much time on the schadenfreude (hey, Emacs knows that word!) of the circular flying squad of flying attack monkeys now known as the Republican Party, let's start off with this: a document from Microsoft on how to write error messages. Most charmingly, all of the bad examples come from MS's own products, often with tongue-in-cheek admissions of just how badly they've handled popup errors over the years.

- The entire visible universe appears to be going somewhere. We are in motion, at one-fifth of one percent of the speed of light, in a certain direction; the entirety of the universe appears to be going there, suggesting a greater context for the universe than what we can observe. Very cool.

- The advice is pretty solid, especially the bit about not using Flash, but while you might consider using meta tags for your own purposes, although Google now ignores them.
