You know you’ve got it bad when, while writing an alternative history, you find yourself hacking a python script to query the database at census.gov and calculate what the world population of your “otherness” species ought to be.  Right now it tells me:

World Bastet Population (EST): 1,120,421

Y’know what, though?  This collection is developing a very weird vibe about furries.

No, nothing like that. It's just... As Jake (Jake Hull's grandson) is fond of saying, there's one Bastet in the world for every 6000 people. Even with their legendary promiscuity, that means that very few people will ever get a chance to meet a Bastet, much less sleep with one, and that's merely the mechanics; you still have to convince the Bastet that you're not a fetishist or a psycho or anything like that. And for them, it's very much a seller's market. So the relationship between Bastet and Furry would be a rather tense one, and I haven't figured out yet how that would manifest. It's just writer stuff, really; I'm not getting dissed by furries or anti-furs yet.
