After making the claim of which heads of state I could name, I went and reviewed my knowledge. As it turned out, I was mostly right. I could, in fact, name all of the people I listed with one exception:

I had the names of the PMs of Israel and Palestine backwards. For some bizarre reason, I thought Olmert was the head of the PNA, and Abbas the PM of Israel.

Definitely not good enough for government work. Bleah. So much for my vaunted knowledge base.

That's lovely - and quite understandable. "Abba" is Hebrew for father, so the plural would have to be Hebrew, too, right?

Olmert, on the other hand, is an awfully nondescript name. (Funny how that matches the gray man...)

I think it's dreadful. I'm one step ahead of Ronald Reagan's assessment of Brazil and Venezuela: "I went down to Latin America to find out from them and their views. You'd be surprised. They're all individual countries."

Yep, when Jesus went to France, the Hebrews adopted French plurals as an alternate grammatical form. :-P
