Lessee, the thermometer is telling me 100.9 (38.3), I had the worst cough last night, and have barely slept for more than an hour or two at a break. What is going on? I felt fine the last two days. Not a hint of fever. Did I catch another bug along the way, or what?

Probably you just need more rest. You can feel fine while still harboring bugs and you can probably function just fine so long as you get extra rest meanwhile. Yah, I know, easier said than done.
