Like I said, you gotta ask. Most people know in theory that their friends welcome them, but how often would you drop in on someone just because? We're afraid of intruding on each other because there are times when it would be an instrusion, however welcome. Granted folks won't always be available, but you don't know until you put it out there and they check their calendars. And we're all busy. Even single/child free people understand messy houses and hectic lives. It's the companionship that matters.

So just ask more.
