I'm confused. I know a few people who simply save there money. Then when they find something they really want they simply buy it. There default mode is to save. I think the more interesting question would be what would they find that they've never seen before and compel them to spend there money. One of my friends has been saving for years and still hasn't found anything that he really wants.
