When Viri Multiply

Ugh. I have come down with Kouryou-chan's virus. Last night, I went to bed feeling a little under the weather, and by three o'clock I was in that delirious, 102-degree fever state. When my bladder informed me I had to get up, I got out of the covers radiant with body heat and by the time I was done with my business felt so chilled all I could wish for was to crawl back under the covers and stay warm. I shivered terribly, and slept for 13 hours. I awoke completely dehydrated, with gnolls hammering at my head and the worst case of heartburn I've felt in months, maybe years.

I seem to be past the worst of it, but Kouryou-chan went through a stage where we thought it was over and it all came back the next day, so I'll just have to wait before I know if I'm going to collapse again.

Apparently, it's just somethin' going around. kaelisinger reported that her kids had it, but that's not a surprise: they were with Kouryou-chan at Oloteas this past weekend. But then j5nn5r reported that his family had gotten hit with it, and I haven't seen him in a few weeks.

So something has emerged recently, another variant on bugs that want to eat us. Ain't evolution great?

<nitpick> ITYM virons. "Virus" is an indefinite noun in Latin, so it doesn't have a classical plural. "Viruses" is correct for a bunch of viral strains, and "virons" for a bunch of viral particles. </nitpick>
