Since Tonya and I were recently going back and forth about a very devilshly lovely pair of shoes, I figured it was only fair that I admit my admiration for these.

I don't know whether to applaude you as a kinky pervert or call you a foot-binding throw back to patriarchy. Either way, I'd _die_ in those shoes. Of course, given that I think these (http://dressed2play.com/88knhibo.html) are some of the sexiest most yummy looking boots I've ever seen, I'd be a hipocrit to call you either one.

They're still foot-deforming, crippling, female-hobbling inventions of a patriarchal society bent on objectifying women, though. It's just that the societal brain-washing in this case was _really_ effective. Either that, or they're just godsdamned _hot_.

Why can't they be both? Hell, once you get past the whole "patriarchy" argument, the fact is that they are both. It reminds me of a woman friend of mine who once complained, "My girlfriend bought something from Victoria's Secret. I couldn't believe she'd buy such a sexist, degrading outfit, but she looked so great in it!"

Heh. I've been looking at that pair for a year now and telling myself "You will _break_ your neck. _BREAK_ your neck, understand? No boots. Boots bad, idiot girl... even if you _do_ manage to walk in them, think of the _pain_."

Still... yum. Shiney, and buckles, and chromed heels and... yum.

Agree on platforms... I'm 5'10"... adding extra height has never really been a particularly driving _need_ for me, y'know? And I suppose it shows my age, but they just look clunky to me. But I love the sleek, fetishy boots with laces and buckles and sharp, deadly little heels. So now you know my shameful secret. :)

Heh. Definitely both. Though honestly, the more compelling argument to shun such things is that of podiatrists. Ever seen an Xray of the feet of a woman who's worn heels for 20 years? Not pretty. Flinch-worthy, in fact. I recall my paternal grandmother's feet, when she was in her seventies and finally gave in to the idea of being allowed to go barefoot in her own house, looked barely human after a lifetime of wearing pointy-toed high-heels.

So really, it's totally ridiculous that I could possibly think something that would eventually maim its wearer could be attractive. There's got to be some very mixed up psychology going on there.

Hmmm... or maybe it's just the simple fact that ultra sexy boots/shoes don't _come_ in low heels. It's either sensible or sexy, and never the twain shall meet.
