Okay, so I'm installing the open-source version of WebObjects, the ancient NeXT software written in objective-c and still the granddaddy of all application servers. Why does this thing need all of the libraries for X in order to run? It's meant to run on a server and it deploys HTML! I have no intention of running X here, ever!

I traced it down. It's not even a link. It's just an assumption that the NeXTStep environment automatically includes the art, and there's no reason to have the art if you can't display it!

Oh, weird. Sounds more like a packaging misstep than anything, then.
