Look up the books Pretties, Uglies and...damn, can't remmeber the last title in the series. Anyhow, they're YA novels by Scott Westerfeld, fairly well done, which focus around the concept that, at a certian age, you get a massive plastic surgery overhaul, which makes you into a "Pretty", and how that affects society. Interesting reads, if a little heavy handed (Although, to be fair, they are aimed at the 12-16 age group.)
