Realtime(ish) programming comes with a lot of differences from other programming. You need to be very aware of those caveats and they're just churning out code monkeys that don't know how to deal with reality. It's pretty rampant in the C/C++ world as well, where people don't get that you really do need to pay attention, despite all the helpers.
