Jonesing...

This month, in preparation of the holiday season, Omaha and I have been holding back on most "unnecessary" purchases. Unfortunately, one of those was my monthly subscription to Usenet. This is my first day without access and I'm totally jonesing. I keep looking at the stat window on my laptop and wondering, "Anything new? Anything new... oh, yeah."

Bleah. Cold turkey always sucks.

I know you don't get binaries there, but you can get the text feeds on Google Groups. http://groups.google.com/

I hear tell there's a guy who writes really great sexy furry stories and posts them there. ;)

Heh. I was making a small joke. My very first encounter with usenet was glancing over a lab admin's shoulder in the English department's lab in 1991. (On an AT&T 3B2/500, I think) He was reading was a Journal Entry. So it seemed appropriate to return the favor, if only in jest.

I really appreciate that, but I've got text-only feeds. It's the binaries that I miss. Well, with any luck I'll have them back next month.
