The third (of four) installment of Wishing Well, The Queen is up and available on my website and from fine usenet distributors everywhere! The story codes are: FF(ws), FF, FFF. It's one of those stories.
Wish's head was just a little above where his naval would have been if he had had a naval. But the green-furred fox-centaurs known as Ritan didn't have navels there
Enjoying this series though, stumbled over that...
If I have read and reread "The Journal" maybe a dozen times, and each time a new set of chapters arrive. I enjoy the story immensely, My one possible wish is more expansion on earlier chapters. But ohh well, Wish and Wish again... LOL.
I've read the journal entries a few times over the years, and I enjoy almost everything about them, including the what-if games I can play in my head on the topics of longevity, technology, and society.
It occurs to me after my last reading that the one thing that never seems to happen is true adversity and struggles to survive. It would be interesting to see how the characters of your universe meet a challenge of galactic proportions against a group that is seemingly more powerful, more cunning, etc. I realize that you might not be writing the journal entries to explore such things, but it's uncharted waters.
In a recent blog entry, you noted that writing for the journal entries was almost too easy. Perhaps you should take yourself out of your normal comfort zone and see what happens.
I don't have an OpenID or a LiveJournal user id, but my name is Chris and I can be reached at cboebel@cboebel.com / www.cboebel.com.
