What? It's black Friday? I didn't know...
Nov. 26th, 2004 07:00 pmOmaha and I stayed at home and gardened instead. I pruned the apple tree, trying to relieve some of the weight and encourage it to grow back towards the fence rather than lean towards the house. I think it's just leaning towards the sun, but after last summer I don't want it to be too terribly burdened with the weight it carried. Omaha trimmed her rose bushes and prepared them for winter. Kouryou-chan picked up the back yard, putting all of her filthy stuffed animals into a pile to get cleaned.
We went back inside, had lunch-- turkey sandwiches, who would have guessed?-- and then settled in to watch a little TV, play a few games like Monopoly Junior, a rather deterministic version of Monopoly, and relax. We finished cleaning up the kitchen: Omaha took care of the countertops and I mopped the floors. Kouryou-chan indulged in a little painting while I tried, with little success, to re-assemble a ceramic top to a kitchen container that had shattered a few months ago.
Omaha has chosen mushroom-turkey casserole for dinner. I'm boiling down the turkey bones to make stock. Maybe, now that I've finished Halo, I'll find something else to play when my brain is fried.
