Two quotes of the day
Nov. 3rd, 2004 01:27 pmBill Hicks once told a story about an American friend of his who complained about the USA. When told, "well, if you don't like it then move somewhere else" the friend's reply would be, "What? And become a victim of our foreign policy?" (via BoingBoing)
And from Lawrence Lessig comes this quote: "I'm going to spend time these next few days looking for the America in my heart. It may be a while before I see it anywhere else."

You have Gift, why can't you use it Right?
Date: 2004-11-03 07:43 pm (UTC)I like Article 1-Verse 5 , Who will speak for us?
"Is the sky really falling?" I ask the hen balling, She replied, "No, just my feeling of emotion that I needed to express."
"Did you vote?" she replied, "Yes, that I did."
"I hate to tell you this, my lady. Voting is just the beginning, have you notice how many Democrats finally took a stand?"
She reply, "So your point is?"
"If you believe so much on that guy you truly believe in and if he is true to his word and to continue fighting for you. Why ball about it and give up, why can't you believe he well continues? You have a voice, the ability to write and make your emotion true. Why can't you put your gift to use and speak out? Not in out rage, but as encouragement and make the man, you believe in - 'See You', that you still got his back. Let him know that he still have any army that will continue to stand by him, this fight isn't over, until you give up. That is when you can actually say, it's your fault. Because you became a quitter."
The hen disappeared, either she didn’t like what I have told her, or she didn’t sat there with in her tears, she took note and wrote to encourage those around her, not to give up.
I keep having this song run through my head...

Put 'em up against the Wall. <'GAINST THE WALL>

And that one looks Jewish, and that one's a *coon*!
Who let all a' this riffraff into the room?
And there one smoking a joint! And another with spots!
If I had my way.... I'd have all a' ya' SHOT!
Needless to say, I'm depressed.
