Sunday afternoon: better
Feb. 9th, 2004 11:19 amWell, after putting Omaha back to bed, I finished cleaning up the kitchen, then tried to decide what to do next with the kids. Omaha came out after an hour, looking a lot better than when she had chosen to lie down. We had lunch-- grilled cheese sandwiches for them. Kraft American cheese, too. I made myself the MexAmerican equivalent, a quesadilla with chedder, scallions, tomatoes, and topped with salsa. The girls thought that was gross.
Yamaarashi-chan and I went out to clean the car. Being a child transport device, it collects all matter of trash and grime over the course of the week, so it was time to dig under the seats and rescue crayons, covered cups (mostly empty, thank Goddess), a few pop bottles, two stuffed animals, and miscellany. Then I vacummed while Yamaarashi-chan helped wipe down the interior. Child labor! But we had fun working together, and then we went to Southcenter. Eddie Bauer was having a clearance sale on their shirts and since many of mine are becoming threadbare, I was able to score three very nice shirts. Yamaarashi-chan had final say on whether or not they looked good on me, leading me to take a more sedate red to the hot, bright red to which I was initially attracted.
After dropping her off at her mother's house, I went home, I discovered that
fallenpegasus had decided he needed a more sedate setting, but not his empty home, so he had shown up. We made pizzas and watched Read Or Die, which was quite wonderful. Kouryou-chan's cold and fever were getting worse, so we tried to put her to bed early, but she fought us every step of the way and crawled into bed with us around four, crying as if we'd tried to abandon her on the roadside or something.
Ugh. I'm gonna be such a vegetable today.
