So, at six-dark-o'clock this morning, Omaha and I crawl out of bed after very little sleep, decide that we need more snuggling, and crawl back into bed for half an hour. Then we finally get out of bed for good and get dressed, then rouse Yamaarashi-chan and Kouryou-chan. We have to be at the ferry at 7:55 to attend River and Charles's wedding.

We get the girls dressed in reasonably nice clothes, then give them breakfast bars and glasses of milk in the name of expediency, planning on a decent lunch when we get home, and then we're off in the car. I drop everyone off at the ferry terminal, park half a mile away, and then run back with only three minutes to spare until the ferry pulls out. My body is not used t othat with no warm up and I spent a few seconds sitting and recovering, feeling dizzy, before we made our way to the front of the ferry.

River looked radiant, as brides should look. Charles was well-dressed but his hair needed a weed whacker. [livejournal.com profile] yaoifangirl and [livejournal.com profile] lyrapuppy were there and I was pleased to see just how healthy Mevi-san looks; I'm glad she's taking care of herself. The wedding was held in a sheltered area on the top foredeck; Kouryou-chan was shivering with the cold despite two jackets and her red winter dress. Yamaarashi-chan was, as always, YELLING EVERYTHING.

The wedding went off with no hitches; the girls carried the rings forward when asked and everyone clapped. It was actually kind of fun, despite the cold. We stopped at Bainbridge Island, got off the ferry, got back on the ferry (I mean that literally; we stepped off into the terminal hallway, turned right around, and stepped back on), and had the reception (and some yummy german chocolate cake) inside the ferry on the ride back.

All told there were about 25 people there, and other than Charles, River, Mevy, Lyra, and my family, I didn't know anyone else there. Ah, well, maybe that's to be expected. I hope Charles and River have a long and happy marriage. Someone else should; Omaha and I should stop hogging all the matrimonial bliss, ne?

We got home around 10:00 and Omaha went right to bed. I'm going to rouse her around noon or so, and we'll decide what to do with our day from there.

ToDo list: Clean out the car, treat the car windows, buy coffee, file a ton of paperwork in my office "in" box, clean the kitchen, get the main kitchen knife sharpened, install a new organizer upgrade on my PDA, and set up a new desk in my office, make grocery list for weekly and monthly groceries, buy cat food.

All told there were about 25 people there...

Were there that many people there? I was thinking more like 15. At any rate, I'm glad I went and it was good seeing you, Omaha, and the kids.

Charles was well-dressed but his hair needed a weed whacker.

He had just gotten his hair trimmed at his college's instructional salon the previous day. They did a whack job, including taking at least three inches off his hair, much to his distress, but there wasn't time to have anything corrected after that.

I wasn't looking at his hair. I was looking into his eyes. :-)

Thank you for being there; your presence and that of your family was a particular delight.
