Man, my C code is sad. I couldn't for the life of me write a simple path optimization this afternoon, even though I had two working examples of path normalization, a very related task, in front of me. I'll take another stab at it tomorrow.
I had no desire to write any story today. I'm not sure why. It was just like I was all burned out in writing fiction. I've done 20,000 words in two weeks, so I guess I'm allowed a down day once in a while. It was just very disturbing to sit there and realize, I don't want to write today.
The drive home was utterly terrifying. It took me an hour to make what is normally a 35 minute driving. I hate driving in this weather, the kind of loathing and fear that I reserver for very few ocassions, the kind of cold pit of the stomach, I'd rather be having my toenails ripped out loathing. Despite this, when I got home I agreed to drive Omaha back to the city so she could go to work. Afterwards, I turned around and drove Kouryou-chan back home where I started to make dinner.
Obviously, since it's monday and I have the house to myself, it's time to make ravioli and home-made sauce. The rain kept pouring outside while I tried to cut the garlic and onions. The onions were very fresh, medium-sized things that made my eyes water horribly. So I came up with a great technological solution.
The techonological solution.I figured my swim goggles were water-proof, they might well keep out the sulfides that make onions such a pain to work with. Kouryou-chan took the photo. She kept trying to help and I kept having to keep her away from the burners. I don't think she'll ever touch them again deliberately. Maybe I'm just being Dad-paranoid again.
While the sauce was simmering, I tried to respond to a post by
elfric when I realized my "S" key was no longer responding. I have sacrificed the right ALT key to make it work, but now I'm down one key. The plastic underneath is drying out and becoming frangible, and I don't know how much longer this keyboard will last. Hopefully at least another year. The battery should be good at least that long.
Kouryou-chan made everything go away from her plate. Now it's time to see if I can get her to clean up her playroom.

The techonological solution.
