If you've got the hardware, it's actually not as time-consuming as it sounds, but I find once in a while making either a cheesecake or homemade ice cream does wonders to soothe my stress. It certainly does wonders to soothe everyone else's; they get to eat it.

I'd be happy to pass along my recipes if it interests you, though from general review, you don't seem all that into the sugary end of things.
