Another wish for cognitive dissonance!
Nov. 22nd, 2017 11:43 amOn a short drive from the house to the grocery I was flipping through the AM dial, as one does, and stumbled upon the Focus on the Family channel. AM 1590, "The Answer," is a classic toxic stew born of Sinclair Programming, Focus on the Family, and Townhall, all white male nationalist supremacy all the time. The Sunday programming is mostly God-bothering, but there's also politics in the afternoon.
I apparently caught it right between the transition from religion to politics. As the religion show wound down, a woman was saying, "And this is how my children will see, and learn, and really understand, that our marriage is the most important thing in our lives."
The next show started up with a roaring defense of Roy Moore. In the back of my mind I heard the woman saying, "And when I vote for Roy Moore, my children will learn that they're not at all important in our lives."
