Games Spammers Play
Dec. 30th, 2007 11:02 amThis morning, while participating in the conversation about furryness and furrydom futher down the page, I went searching for a shot of that infamous "What can we do for, Lord Mumm-Ra?" full-page from the new "Thundercats" series, y'know, the one with Wilykit & Wilycat all grown up? (Go read the thread if you don't know what I mean.) I went to Google image search and typed in Wilykit.
I discovered a spam site out to sell you miscellaneous pictures of naked Asian babes. The photo was of a barely-legal photoshopped-to-low-resolution woman in red lingere. Curious to know what she had to do with Wilykit (honest!), I pulled up the website.
And discovered that, in order to confuse or corrupt Google's search engine, they put short clips from my story, A Night on Thundera, at the bottom of their pages.
