COMMENT
Once or twice a week I have to drive into the office. There are two parking lots in the neighborhood near my office; one has $6 all-day slots but only 30 spaces, the other has $8 all-day slots but over a hundred spaces. There are also 20 free spaces along one street where Seattle hasn't yet put up one of those evil signs and the roboattendant machine. I sometimes get the $6 lot because it's tucked behind a Buddhist monastery (really) and because I drive in around 6:30am.

Today, though, I scored a free parking space, which meant I saved my cash.

The cafe' at the office started selling eggnog latte's today, too. It's like a sign from the gods.

Dear Microsoft:

If you're going to claim that Internet Explorer 7 supports XPATH, it ought to support all of XPATH. A command to find the unlabled text field associated with a syntax-checked hidden field, such as //input[@type='hidden' and @name='username']/../input[@type='text'] ought not to fail with some godsdamned OLE error.

I had to do some stupid crap like:
selectNodes('//input[@name='username']/..')[0].selectNodes('input[@type='text'])[0]

Firefox does this correctly. You have more money. I see a problem here.

I would like to congratulate Microsoft on acheiving what it has tried to achieve for years, and only today succeeded. It succeeded in making me me feel as if my computer was not mine. It made me feel as if trying to assert my ownership of my own computer and my properties on it was an act of rebellion. It made me feel like a criminal for performing a perfectly legal act.

No wonder people loathe MS. It's getting worse, not better. It was an utter relief to reboot back into Linux.

Y'know what really sucks? Most of the eBook sellers out there require that you have memberships. I don't want my reading habits tracked, thankyouverymuch. And fuckyouverymuch, Microsoft and Ebooks.com.

Now that many companies are pressuring the labels to ditch DRM for music, can we ditch it for books too, please?
