Kouryou-chan's creativity has been somewhat quiescent lately. That's not to say that she hasn't been doing things that are fun and creative, but she hasn't been pushing at her skills boundaries the way she has in the past. Obviously, she was saving it all up for something.
When I came home Friday night, I found this on my bed. Every single one of Kouryou-chan's stuff animals laid out, but what caught my attention were the tiny little cards laid on top of each of the animals. There were almost thirty of them, and each one had a little red feather attached to it with glitter glue. The feathers had come off a dress-up boa the girls had found at some dimestore. In the closeup at right, you can get a look at them. It took me a while to figure out what they were, and then I realized what I was looking at.
Kouryou-chan had found my Hello Kitty™ Tarot Deck. Yes, I have one. Yes, it's evil beyond words. It is not an official Sanrio project, although what's most startling about it is that it is a very honest interpretation of the Rider Waite deck. Its useability is on par with the original Hanson Roberts deck, it's that good. It's hard to believe that someone actually drew all 78 cards and knew enough about Tarot and Hello Kitty to meld them so effectively, but these cards pull it off. And Kouryou-chan had copied the cards. Not perfectly, obviously. I mean, she's only six. But good grief, that's so cool.
My favorite has to be this one, because it looks like Kouryou-chan did her own substition and drew Totoro as The World. At the link, you can find two more examples. Clever girl.
