Whatever Happened to Slainte?

A few years ago I downloaded from a website a song called Mairi's Wedding, performed live. I didn't know a whole lot about it other than that it was sung wondefully and beautifully, and it sounded like the participants were having a whole lot of fun.

A week later, when I went back to the link I had found, it was gone. The band, Slainte, had disappeared off the face of the Earth, their website deleted and any mention of them ungoogleable.

Well, I now know two things about them. Apparently they've dumped all of their works into the Internet Archive, and they're all downloadable as high-quality MP3s. The other thing, and this was something of a disappointment, was that they were a Seattle-based band. The choir heard on their songs is the Tacoma Children's Choir.

Anyway, you can now get their stuff from the Internet Archive and Open Source Audio. It's nice to have, but it's also frustrating-- I think I would have liked to see them live, and I know I'd like to be able to buy their stuff and thank them for the pleasure they've given me.

(Yeah, I know, if you Google for them you'll find at least two other bands with the same name. No matter. This is the one I wanted.)

For Fans of the Journal Entries, a few Questions...

So, I have bought a co-lo. It was pretty cheap, and I don't make any promises about it's efficiency or reliability, but I am hoping it'll be faster than the site at Drizzle. The official opening date will be July 1st, at the current schedule, provided no further disasters happen between now and then. Along with the move I'm hoping to update the look and feel of the website, and provide some more interesting functionality to the system.

The obvious answer to all the questions I'm about to ask is "Just provide it and see if anyone uses it," but I'd like to get a general feel: Would you like to see a Wiki for the Pendorverse (and should there be one Wiki for the Pendorverse and another for the Aimee' series)? Should I move my blog there and use something more familiar, like Wordpress? I'll have 3GB of storage rather than 10MB (yes, that's what I'm limited to) so there will be room for other formats (PDF? PalmDoc? What else?) as well as complete ZIP collections in those formats? How about an RSS feed of the story index, so you'll know when there's a new one easily? Would you guys use a forum to discuss the stories, or not?

The question really comes down to: what should I spend my time establishing on the new server?
