I've spent the last day and a half re-reading the Journal Entry Mobility, a story that first appeared about four years. I was going through my writing tasklist and realized that I'd never finished The Comet, a planned sequel to Mobility, mostly because it was hard to come up with a story that didn't interfere with the ALTHEA (And Lived They Happily Ever After) ending of Mobility (I'm a big fan of ALTHEA endings), so the first step was to read the original and get a feel for the characters.

I wish I'd realized just how badly that story was organized. There are paragraphs where I clearly signal a change of speaker-- but don't change the speaker and don't tell the reader. Argh. The story takes forever to get moving; it's a nice single plot story, but it doesn't deserve the 31,313 words that it takes to tell.

I also had a problem with the website and set up a debug session. In the process I managed to wreck the 'working' script that I use to proofread my stories before posting. I'm going to have to spend an hour or so fixing that page. It would be nice, too, if I had a page that interleaved the Journal Entries while marking them "published," "completed but not published," and "incomplete", probably with colors.

On the other hand, the second story in the Misuko & Linia series has long been finished, and I tried recording part of the fourth as a podcast and was pleased with the results. I just need to get the working script up and running; it's "render in HTML" feature is what I use to make sure the second story is correct.
