Sunday: Hey, that was no sunbreak
Mar. 7th, 2005 02:10 pmSunday was okay. I did a preliminary pick-up of stuff scattered about the yard and surveyed the damage from the relatively mild (and distressingly dry) winter. Nothing too bad; one of the apple trees, the one that's least productive, has started to bud. I spotted the first wasp of spring, making me realize that it was time to think about refreshing the traps before the breeding season gets into full swing. Omaha convinced (ahem) the girls that it was time to clean their room, so they did, but not without much cajoling. We had egg salad for lunch and leftover adult macaroni & cheese for dinner, did the monthly grocery shopping, that sort of thing. The girls did a lot of playing outside. It's time to mow.
I decided as an experiment to try and do Yamaraashi-chan's eye exercises after lunch, rather than before bedtime, and she did much better. My own eye doctor recommended that I do my exercises in the morning since my eyes will be tired from staring at the monitor all day by the time dusk rolls around, so trying it out with Yamaraashi-chan she did a lot better. She can hold focus all the way out to two meters now, which is nice to see.
I didn't sleep very well, though. I woke up with a terrible ache in my back, right behind one of my kidneys. I'm not sure what that's about; it's been happening on and off the past couple of weeks, but last night was the first night it kept me up for an appreciable period of time.
