Methinks the randomalbum on XMMS knows too much...

Congratulations, SpaceShipOne!. Probably the best news heard all morning. Ordinary people can now make it into space. All it takes is money.

"I heard a loud bang from the back." It appeared to have been part of the composite airframe buckling near the rocket nozzle during the boost phase. Ick. Hopefully, they can put it together and make the real two-launch sequence real soon.

I like Burt. "Supersonic feather is a non-event." Yeah, right. Let's hope the reinforcement needed to make SpaceShipOne viable as a quick-turnaround doesn't cause significant weight issues.

And my favorite grumble, from the New Scientist: "Paul Allen has pumped 30 times as much cash into DreamWorks Studios as he has into Rutan's endeavor."

EDIT: The maximum flight ceiling has officially been listed as 328,491 feet, or 62.21 miles, 100.12 km! SpaceShipOne does it! Congratulations, Mike and Burt!
