Horus and Osiris, what does it take to kick this thrice-damned cold!?!? I've had it for three weeks now, and it just seems to occillate between getting better and getting worse, and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired! I made an appointment with a doctor tomorrow in case I've caught Kouryou-chan's bacterial bronchitis, but today, even with The Medicine Of Our People flowing through my veins, I feel like crud.
Anyway...
Yesterday, spam bought lunch. That's not such a bad thing. For listening to a five-minute spiel about the advantages of having a financial advisor, I received a free lunch from the local Thai restaurant, which is actually a really good place to eat. And y'know what? We need a financial advisor.
Omaha made dinner, a delicious chicken, rice, and orange one-pot dish that I downed instantly. I played a roundof backgammon with Kouryou-chan, and she's figuring it out. I've been so tired recently I've been unable to do much at night, so we watched TV until it was time to put Kouryou-chan to bed.
My predictions, like those of most psychics, failed. She stayed in her bed last night.
On the bus ride to work I struggled with Chapter 3 of Bones of the Dragon and didn't make much progress, but I'm now about 600 words into it, so I'm doing something at any rate.
I tried, I really did, to get into The L Word, the new Showtime show about lesbians in Los Angeles. But I couldn't. The characters didn't come across as sincere, the acting was relatively flat, and not even the promise of gratutitous nudity and hot lesbian love scenes could keep my interest.
Maybe it's this damned cold.
