So, after the Democratic Caucus, Omaha and I settled into an afternoon of housework. It was gorgeous, but a bit chilly, as I went outside and proceeded to clean up roadway in front of the garage. The roadway slopes down to the garage, in front of which are four drainage grills to prevent the rain from flowing straight into the building. Over the winter, leaf and other debris had flowed down that hillside and collected where the ground gets flat and dips down to the drainage grills. It took three hours to muck out what was effectively leaf compost, break up the grass that was growing out of it, and discard all of the neighborhood children's toys that had dropped there. I cleaned out the trashcans, washed the front walls, and sorted out all the rocks.

After a shower, the kids, Omaha and I all trooped over to [livejournal.com profile] shemayazi's house to celebrate her housewarming and her beloved's birthday. We gave them our usual housewarming gift and enjoyed their company. It's a lovely house; they've painted the rooms in thematic colors that work wery well for their sensibilities and have occupied every corner as theirs. The neighbors are scary; they hang "Turn or Burn!" signs from their fences for everyone to see who drives by on the minor arterial. And I have to admit they do some very interesting friends, many of whom qualify as out-and-out eye candy as well.

We filled the house with balloons, on which Yamaarashi-chan and Kouryou-chan proceeded to draw faces, mostly scary. Shemayazi had the right idea by allocating a space for kids and providing them with a large pad of paper and some markers.

By the time we got home, the girls were completely exhausted, and so were Omaha and I.

Well, after waking early, Omaha made muffins and banana smoothies for herself and Kouryou-chan, Yamaarashi-chan had scrambled eggs and I had cereal and coffee. We were just cleaning up and planning our day when Omaha had a seziure.

Dunno what we're going to do now.

The good news is that I finally caught it on video tape. Omaha has always wondered what it was like when someone dealt with her in the middle of a seziure, and now she'll know. It's not pretty, but it's hardly as dramatic as something from ER or some such show.

And she's utterly crazy. It's barely forty minutes later, her language centers aren't even fully on-line yet, but still she's determined to pick up right where she left off and finish cleaning the microwave.

Excuse me, I have to go talk some sense into her.

"Sometimes, y'know, there's stuff and... do stuff so I feel, y'know, stuff. It might be ten minutes but doing will, y'know, make me... stuff!"

-- Omaha, explaining why she's continuing her morning routine long before she's fully recovered from her seizure.
