I have an idiot for a near neighbor. I live at the end of a cul-de-sac in a nicely wooded area of gentle hills. It's hard to picture, but from my house I have to make two right turns to get to the main route out of my neighborhood. This "bow" between the first and second turns is a low point in the topography, and at the first in where the neighbor lives.

He recently revamped some of his property, putting on a covered driveway. In the process, the heavy machinery he brought in tore up his asphalt, so he replaced the entire thing with a very lovely gravel driveway.

So, he has a driveway that slopes downwards toward the road, and a road which further slopes downward towards the intersection.

The heavy rains swept his entire load of gravel into the roadway. It's a bit like driving on marbles. I wonder what it'll cost him to clean it all up?

Plotlines is coming along nicely. The XML storage chain for story templates is complete, and the file management is just begun but it should be easy. You can store a template in the template database, or in a project file-- if you're looking for one in the template database, it searches for the name; if you're looking in the project file, there can be only one template. It should work. Haven't figured out how the program will react if the requested template isn't found. I may revise to break the templates into different files, one per.

Also, I've gotten a splash page chunk of code working. It's a silly thing, but it's my first piece of GTK+ code. And, y'know, it is just like writing HTML. Really.
