Classes! Conventions!
Sep. 25th, 2003 03:27 pmAfter work yesterday, I drove all the way over to Bellevue to give my "introduction to CSS" lecture that I'd promised the HTML Writer's SIG. I'm guessing that the weather was too nice to tempt people indoors; there were only three people there. Ah, well. I also left my notes on my desk at the office, so I had to wing it. Fortunately, I had my examples (including a paragraph from Nabakov's Lolita as my example text... nothing too outrageous, though), and was able to fill the hour with entertaining issues about why CSS is cool and why you should use it.
I discovered that there is a Seattle Python Special Interest Group, and I've been trying to sign up for it but their mailing list software seems to be unreliable.
Anyway, my boss said basically "No fucking way" to letting me take Friday off. So I'll be dragging my butt into the office Friday anyway, then driving all the way down to Tacoma for Conifur that evening. Omaha and I will probably be there somewhat late, but we still need to get home early enough to hurtle over to Home Depot, grab a truck, hurtle over to a construction site where the foreman will happily unload the excess retaining wall material he's bought on me, and then hurtle home to direct the destruction of my garden.
