One other odd detail:

While we were at the hospital, a woman came in to give us a post- intake questionnaire. One of the things she wanted was "religion." We were surprised to learn that they didn't have space on their form for either "Wiccan" or "Pagan," or any common synonym.

That was peculiar. The military recognizes pagans. You'd think the hospital system in Seattle would have caught up.

I had to spell pagan for the intake nurse here in Arkansas. But I'd have thought Seattle would have been more on top of things.

Interesting. In the gazillions of forms we had to fill out to check whether Daniel's chest pain was or was not a heart attack, no one asked about religion at all.

(It wasn't, and he's fine)

Good to hear the chest pain wasn't serious.

It's amazing how badly the medical system in the US lags behind even the military in many respects. Particularly non-billable technology.

Did they have space for "other"?

Could be handy if the patient and patient's family don't agree on religion in a flammable way.
