US policy needs to empower the moderate and peaceful elements within the Republican party to isolate the radicals.

However, using the same intellectual standards as those of the Republican party, by their own words there can be no peace with non-Republicans.

As long as the American Taliban is in the driver's seat of the Republican party, expect platforms like this to be the norm.
