Most of the 66 [men interviewed] were low-level Taliban grunts, innocent Afghan villagers or ordinary criminals. At least seven had been working for the U.S.-backed Afghan government and had no ties to militants, according to Afghan local officials. In effect, many of the detainees posed no danger to the United States or its allies.

Unlike al-Qaeda, the Taliban is a valid, standing military force, and its people must be treated as prisoners of war under the Geneva Convention. Especially it's "low level grunts."

I'm sorry you have to hang on to your fantasies. I'm not sure why you do. But George Bush and Dick Cheney created and maintained the best jihadi recruitment poster, and Cheney continues to insist that it be operated to this day.

And remember: not one of the recidivists came from the period when Obama was in office.
