Yamaraashi-chan, LisaKit and I were all in the car, heading over to the library, when the song "Imagine" came on the radio. Apparently, Yamaraashi-chan knew all the words. When the song was over, I asked her if she knew who wrote it. "Yeah," she said. "It was John Lennon."

"Did you know he was in a band before he had his solo career?"

"He was?"

Lisa and I broke out giggling. It took Y-chan a few heartbeats before she finally said, "Oh, yeah, he was in the Beatles, wasn't he?"

The Who is popular with my high school freshman son, so I think they're enjoying renewed energy. He's also been into AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers and a number of other bands I think of as from "my era".

It's a little bit odd, frankly, but when I listen to some of the other stuff he likes, I'm grateful.
