Yeah, really bad choice of metaphor on Steele's part. They call them "cowcatchers" for a reason!

Only slightly related but did you catch Humpty-hump's Steele's blog? It was titled "what up" for a grand total of about 24 hours of internet mockery before being changed (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/10/14/steeles-blog-no-longer-titled-what-up/).

The whole GOP.com site is hilarious. I especially like the future leaders (http://www.gop.com/index.php/learn/future_leaders/) page where the message is pretty much "Umm...you tell us?"

Not to mention all the stock images of smiling minorities on just about every page.
