Can I have a do-over?

Today, I blew my entire morning wrestling with insurance companies and banks, playing telephone with the companies that were themselves playing telephone: the "ARRA benefits provider," to the "benefits director" at ${PREVIOUS_JOB}, to the insurance company, to the pharmaceutical provider. It was a nightmare, 'round and 'round and freakin' round, until finally ${PREVIOUS_JOB} did the right thing and said they'd tell the insurance company to go ahead with the paperwork and they'd extract the proper fees-- which we had paid the ARRA people-- afterward. Good, Omaha's not going to be having a seziure anytime soon.
I also spent this morning agonizing about emails with Der Ex. I'm afraid I had had it with her shennanigans and sent her a rather nasty email, but oh, well.
This afternoon, I managed to find two jobs to post to this week. I need at least one more for UI, but really, I'd like the job. I'm not going to finish the submission and contact with ${ETHICS_VIOLATION}; my reputation doesn't need that kind of shit. And I'm not cut out for a consulting gig.
Yamaraashi-chan has a terrible sore throat, but that seems to be all. She's gone to bed with one of those kids allergy cocktails, Benedryl-D, which is damned hard to get these days, but it seems to deal well with the pollen-related post-nasal drip that causes much of her coughing. She's actually doing her homework, for which I'm actually quite proud of her.
I made home-made chicken soup with home-made stock. Dinner was excellent, although I need to be less timid with the salt. It needed more.
Now, the kids are in bed, Omaha is in the office working on political stuff, and I've made myself a margarita (stirred, not blended): 1½ shots tequila, ½ shot Cointreau, juice of one key lime, ½ shot agave sweet syrup, and a lot of ice. The first time I've made one of these and, y'know, it's not bad. Good when it's so warm out.
